This past April, the Organización Latino Americana (OLA) of Eastern Long Island successfully hosted its annual Pachanga, featuring an outstanding lineup that included Lulada Club and RitmoFit XP, presented by the dynamic Mila Tina. Held at the iconic Bay Street Theater, this event celebrated Latin culture, music, and the indomitable spirit of women in the arts.
A Celebration of Women in Music: Lulada Club Takes Center Stage
Founded by the vibrant Andrea Chavarro, Lulada Club is an all-women salsa band that perfectly embodied the theme of this year’s Pachanga, "¡Fuerza y Pasión!" (strength and passion). Originating from Cali, Colombia, Chavarro brought together a group of talented women to perform salsa—a genre traditionally dominated by men. Her experience and passion for salsa, refined from her time in Istanbul to New York, have made Lulada Club a beacon for female empowerment and cultural connection through music.
Mila Tina’s RitmoFit XP: A Multisensory Experience
Mila Tina, renowned for her innovative and multisensory percussion performances, brought RitmoFit XP to the Pachanga stage. Integrating drumming, dance, martial arts, and visual arts, Tina's performance delved deep into the fabric of feminine energy. She was joined by special guest Inana Lu Rose, whose ethereal voice has graced soundtracks for films and video games, including Disney’s “Mulan” (2020). Their combined performance was not only a highlight of the evening but also a profound expression of this year’s theme of strength and passion.
Reflecting on a Night of Cultural Celebration and Artistic Brilliance
The Pachanga at Bay Street Theater was more than a concert; it was a festivity that brought the community together to honor Latin artistic heritage. The evening began with a welcoming reception and continued with unforgettable performances, illustrating the strength and resilience of the community.
Looking Back and Moving Forward
The Pachanga 2024 is now a cherished memory for those who attended and a benchmark of success in showcasing Latin culture and female talent on stage. As we look forward to next year’s event, we remain inspired by the powerful performances of Lulada Club, Mila Tina, and all the talented women who graced the stage.
Last year's Pachanga was a testament to the cultural richness and artistic vibrancy of the Latin community on the East End. Attendees left with a deeper appreciation for salsa and the arts, invigorated by the powerful showcase of strength and passion. As we anticipate the next celebration, we carry forward the spirit and inspiration from a night filled with rhythm and community connection.
